What MaxBounty is

MaxBounty is one of the longest-running CPA networks in North America. It has operated since 2004 from Ottawa, Canada, and the legal entity is now mrge BC Advertising Inc. dba MaxBounty after commerce advertising group mrge acquired it in August 2024. CEO Matt McEvoy has been with the company since 2006, and the network has a dedicated compliance and anti-fraud department. MaxBounty says it works with more than 30,000 affiliates and runs over 3,000 active campaigns from hundreds of advertisers, with brand logos such as Norton, McAfee, Walmart, H&R Block, Upstart, Noom and Nutrisystem.

Offers and verticals

The campaign mix is broad and leans toward mainstream North American brands: finance and insurance, health and diet, cybersecurity software, e-commerce, travel, and app installs. Recent content from the network focuses on digital health, digital finance and life insurance leads. Each campaign page sets its own payout, allowed GEOs and traffic rules, and some campaigns confirm leads days after the click, which the description states.

Commission models and payouts

MaxBounty pays on CPA, CPL, CPS and CPI. New affiliates start on monthly net 15: earnings are paid about 15 days after the last business day of the month, so January commissions arrive around February 15. The minimum is $100 USD or a higher amount the affiliate requests, and smaller balances roll over. After the first payment, affiliates paid electronically are usually moved to weekly payments, although MaxBounty can withhold weekly status at its discretion. Payments go through Payoneer and Tipalti, with check, eCheck, ACH, PayPal and wire available depending on country.

Commissions are only earned on actions the advertiser reports and pays for, and actions can be reversed at any time, even after payment, for duplicates, fraud, non-compliance or advertiser non-payment. The referral program is described two ways: the terms and homepage say 10% of a referred affiliate’s commissions for six months, while the FAQ still says 5% for 12 months. The terms are the binding version. MaxBounty also promotes a performance bonus for new affiliates worth up to $10,000 in the first 90 days; the qualifying thresholds should be confirmed with the manager.

Tracking, tools and platform

Tracking is postback-based, and stats normally update in real time with up to a five-minute delay. Affiliates get a dashboard with campaign search and reporting, plus a mobile app for iOS and Android that can create tracking links and monitor performance. Advertisers have their own tracking platform. The network does not advertise a public affiliate API or a smartlink.

Traffic rules and compliance

Allowed traffic is set per campaign, and advertisers often exclude paid search or social. Self-generated leads, SMS ads, posting ads on forums or social networks without consent, and framing advertiser pages without written approval are banned. Email must go to opted-in lists with a working unsubscribe and a physical address, following CAN-SPAM and CASL, and spam forfeits all commissions. Incentive and content-unlock traffic is accepted only on a small number of approved campaigns. Accounts with no login for six months become inactive, and after nine months they can be closed with the remaining balance debited. A 12-month non-circumvention clause bars contacting MaxBounty advertisers directly.

Every application is screened manually for identity, traffic quality and fraud risk. A website is not required, but applicants must explain exactly how they will promote offers, and MaxBounty can reject anyone. Approved affiliates get a dedicated affiliate manager.
