Shopify Affiliate Program

The Shopify Affiliate Program pays partners for referring new merchants to Shopify. It is free to join and is managed through Impact, where affiliates get custom referral links, analytics and payment tracking.

What you earn

Shopify pays up to $150 USD per qualified referral. A referral qualifies when the person signs up for a paid Basic, Grow or Advanced plan. Commission amounts vary by the location of the referral, and the program has no commission caps.

Referral window

The standard window is 30 days from the moment someone clicks your link. If the referral starts a free trial within that window, Shopify extends tracking for up to 400 days, so a merchant who takes months to move to a paid plan still counts.

Who Shopify accepts

Shopify looks for applicants who own and manage an active website, have an established audience, and create original content about commerce or entrepreneurship. Experience with Shopify or similar platforms helps. Applications are typically processed within 24 hours, but not every application is approved. Existing Shopify merchants can join.

Payments

Commissions are issued to your Impact balance once a month, on the 22nd. The minimum balance for a withdrawal is $10 USD. Payment is by direct deposit or bank transfer in more than 80 currencies, and you can choose to be paid when the balance reaches a set amount or on a bi-weekly basis.
